What is Puja?
A puja is a means to meet the divine through the human sense organs. It is a ceremony where we invite the the divine in a particular form, and make offerings as prescribed by scriptures and the lineage of teachers. It is a process where the nine types of bhakti come together. When puja is correctly performed, its fruits make life better, and we are purified little by little. Upon regular practice, one attains the radiance of the form they worship.
The scriptures describe Pujas that bestow specific benefits when done correctly by someone with authority. Pujas can please various forces of nature so that blocks in life created by our past karmas may be removed. Pujas can also be done to attain specific goals such as strength, wealth, a partner, or moksha.

Vedic Karma foundation organizes many pujas throughout the year that devotees are welcome to attend.
- Ganapathi Yagya, every chaturthi (twice a month)
Join as yajaman (doer) here. Varanasi, India - Maha Shivaratri Puja (all night on shivaratri). Location announced on Facebook. (in Feb/March)
- Shravana yagya โ 11 days of Shiva Puja and Mrityunjaya homam, in Shiva Ganesh Temple, Yuba City. (in August)
- Navaratri โ 10 days of worshipping Godess Durga (in October)
- Hanuman Jayanthi. Location announced on Facebook.

FAQs
What is a Puja?
Puja is a ceremony where a devata is invited and worshipped according to scriptural injunctions. Specific pujas are prescribed in the scripture for specific goals.
What to wear?
Wear clean clothes. Specific colors are recommended for specific pujas. Men can wear traditional dhoti and vastra. Some pujas require you to discard your clothing after taking a bath in them.
What materials do I need for a puja?
We will let you know this before the Puja’s scheduled time.
